How You Can Help!
As Park Lawn grows, so does the expense of providing quality service and programs. It is with the help and support of friends that we CAN truly make a difference in the lives of the children and adults enrolled in Park Lawn.
Each of the activities listed is important in its own merit. Please take the time to consider this list and let us know which activities you may be interested in doing.
- Phone Calling
Phone calling is a tremendous part of Phonathon. Over 100 callers are needed to contact donors for pledges! Phone callers are also needed throughout the year for soliciting gifts and donations for ZAZZ, recruiting volunteers for Tag Days, or other miscellaneous calls, using lists we provide.
- Tagging
Throughout the year we need people who are willing to help with special tagging events. We need people who are willing to be a Location Coordinator or a Tagger. Coordinators recruit volunteers, set up the location, and supervise volunteers. Taggers are needed at storefronts and street corners. A safety vest, donation bucket and candy to hand out are provided.
- Registration and Event Duties
Volunteers are needed for registration on events such at the Golf Invitational and our Poker Run. Also at these events volunteers are needed to perform various duties such as monitoring check points, selling T-shirts, distributing refreshments, hole in one monitors.
- Selling Tickets
Raffle tickets need to be sold before and during an event. It's an important part of ZAZZ, the Fashion Show, Volleyball for Charity, Poker Run, and the Grand Raffle.
- Distributing Material at Community Functions
Park Lawn attends community, business and legislation expos. Volunteers are needed to monitor the booth and distribute materials.
- Office Work
Multiple opportunities including filing, phone work and computer data entry.
- Adbook Sales/Sponsorship Petitioning
Volunteers are asked to solicit businesses, corporations and individuals for their support through monetary donations, purchasing an ad for souvenir program booklets or donating gifts or services. We also need people to seek sponsorship for the annual golf tournament.
- Gift Basket Creation
Volunteers are asked to package baskets with pre-collected materials for the silent auction at ZAZZ. Baskets are also packaged for local chamber functions and other special events throughout the year.
- Bingo
Bingo is one of Park Lawn's most profitable fund-raisers. Volunteers are needed throughout the year to call, sell cards or pull tabs, or assist on the floor each weekend - Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
- Event Set-up & Clean up
Many of the events that happen throughout the year require volunteers to assist with the set-up and the clean up.
- Mailing/Stuffing/Sorting
Volunteers are needed to assist with large mailings. Preparing materials, stuffing envelopes and sorting by zip code.
